Blue Myrtle

One of three patterns in our Stitch Prints Collection, all inspired by antique Greek embroideries found at the V&A.

This design is based on an oblong cushion cover, embroidered in red silk on cream linen, from the northernmost island of Thasos, with a joining stitch connecting back and front and a border each end. We so liked the joining stitch we decided to run two lines of it down the length of the print.

By kind permission of the V&A.
